One last Get-away

We wanted to surprise the girls and go to Monterey before school started on Tuesday. We enjoyed the wonderful weather while picnicking right off the ocean. Scott carried over the tradition from his family to ours; that every trip that involved lunch we would make Hoagie sandwiches. The girls fell in love with that idea. Before the family photo was taken, McKenzie had mentioned that if we leave the blanket the sea gulls would run away with a bag/ food. And in fact, McKenzie was correct, it ran away with Porter's cheese and cookie. I am sure that the sea gull would have put it back if he knew that my kids were going to torment him to death.

Monterey Bay Aquarium
Every kids favorite place to visit while in the Monterey area. I love seeing all the marine animals; I just wish I could swim with all of them!

I'm going to get you!
This animal was tucked away inside this tiny rock, and we read it was 20 inches long.
Frightening....

Open Wide

The tide pools are the best hands on excitement for all ages.

Isn't this picture priceless.
Porter is scared out of his mind.
He finally came around and loved the water rushing overhead.
Spending hours falling in love with all the animals, its no wonder that the kids took a little something home that reminding them of all the family fun that we had.
