This nutty song is a favorite with my kids. Even Porter will start singing it out of the blue at the most unexpected times. That's a video in the making!
I’m an acorn, small and round
Lying on the cold, hard ground
People come and step on me
That’s why I’m cracked, you see
[Chorus]
I’m a nut, I’m a nut I’m a nut I'm a nut I'm a nut
When you sing the chorus you make a clacking sound with your mouth and take your fist to your head and knock.
McKenzie was in charge of pushing Porter. Boy she had fun with that task. Porter was off roading!
Sarah was in charge of the tree hauler.
And there's Lydia, my adventurer! She went scoping for Christmas trees on her own and came across the "Charlie Brown Christmas Tree." The Adamska Family growing up would travel hours, what it seemed to us kids, and have a field day picking apples, riding ponies and cutting down a Christmas tree. My dad explained to Whitney and I that some trees needed love and a home too. And he quickly pointed out the ugliest, lop sided, discolored trees you have ever seen. We started to think that these poor trees were sad and we needed to save them. So that's what we did each year. We took them home and made them BEAUTIFUL!
So to my surprise, Lydia pulled me over to show me her tree and I quickly smile in memory on my youth.

Sarah and Lydia thought that walkie talkies were necessary in the forest.
All my children were in fear that they wouldn't get a turn with Daddy cutting down the tree.
Daddy was so generous to treat everyone to a Hot Chocolate or a Hot Cider at the Snack Shack.
He's my Man!
Getting the Christmas tree was just the beginning of the day talking of Christmas. So I decided to have the kids made a Christmas Chain. And that way, when they ask every hour on the hour, "How many days til Christmas" they can count.
