What Dad's live for

I am teaching McKenzie how to cook. She is now responsible for all the desserts when desserts are craved in our house. So that means daily!
Scott grabbed the camera and took this picture and told us that this is what he lives for...seeing his little girl become a great cook like her mother.

Houston, we have a problem

The girls were going to thru a phase of running thru the house and slamming doors about a year ago. Thus, the door knob in the play room is busted. You can only turn it one way to open it; which was fine. Until........Yesterday! When Lydia and Sarah busted it completely and got stuck in the playroom for 3 hours.
Daddy to the rescue......

Campbell girlism's

I was frantic yesterday morning wondering where my keys were and discovered I left my keys in the ignition. So I had a lovely surprise when I took the girls to school that next morning. We had sold that Accra and are waiting for the final payment, thank goodness we still had it, because I had to take it that morning. I had told the girls NOT to touch anything and keep your feet down off the seats. Dad had spent a tremendous amount of time cleaning it and I reminded them that its not ours. Sarah then asked, "Why are we selling it anyway?" And before I could remind her of the reasons, McKenzie stepped in and said, "Listen Sarah, Each month we pay $600.00 a month and we don't even drive it. And that is a lot of money. Don't you want a bigger house? And Sarah said, Yes. McKenzie said, "OK then, we have to sell it!"

I thought to myself, McKenzie is a Mini-Me.

Lydiaism

On the way home from visiting SpenJen in Reno, the girls wanted to play "I Spy" so Lydia went first and told Scott, I spy something gray..........inside the car, Dad. Scott was driving and he told Lydia that it would be to hard to look around, why don't we find something outside to spy. Scott was curious and asked Lydia what was gray in the car that she wanted him to guess? She said his Hair!

Happy Birthday McKenzie, 9 years old

Happy Birthday my sweet girl!

Birthday breakfasts are picked by the birthday child, and McKenzie choose DONUTS! Who wouldn't!

Scott and I surprised McKenzie at lunch with her favorite shake, a large Foster Freeze Pineapple Shake.
After lunch we had a small party in her class room where she was sung to by all.

That afternoon her Primary teacher Ann Grether came by the house to drop off a present and sung the "Happy Birthday Song."

Dinner is also picked by the Special Birthday child, Ricks Pizza was chosen. We decided to open gifts while we waited for the yummy pizza. I am telling you, Porter can smile on a dime.

Love the face, McKenzie.
She couldn't wait to put on all the fake nails that her sisters bought her.

McKenzie is rolling in the dough now! McKenzie loves to shop. Go shop till you drop.
Scott went into the bank and asked for $50.00 in ones and the teller gave him a look of discussed! He quickly said , Oh no, its for my daughters birthday gift; it seems like more money if its all in one dollar bills. She quickly said, How cute!"
For a minute Scott was a dirty old man!
It's been a long fun-filled day and we are glad to end it with Papa and Gammie at Rick's.

Hey......the party doesn't stop with one party. When family on both sides are close, it extends the birthday for 7 more days.
Party Down!!!!

Papa said, "Dont worry Kenna the twins will be getting the drum set for their birthday!"

Don't look at the homemade ice cream cake for to long, you are going to gain weight. Thank you mom for being a great cook and giving me the recipe for it.

Thank you Aunt Whitney for sharing your fabulous clothing style with McKenzie.

A Sad Farwell

We had a wonderful spiritual moment with Elder T. He left for Tonga on Wednesday. We hated to see him go. He gave the spiritual message for the evening that brought tears to my eyes. He talked about how we need to be like children and be humble and teachable. To never hold a grudge, be forgiving. He also expressed that our house was the ward missionary house; always feeling welcome and lots of love here. He enjoyed all the loud laughter and love that was shared between the children. He truly feels like this house was his home and he will miss it.

It gave me such a warm feeling in my heart to know that he felt like that about us. I have loved seeing and having the missionaries in our home.

Open Wide

First time at the dentist! Have to take advantage of those adorable photo moments.

They were great with Porter. They put sunglasses on him to shield him from the bright light above. They were so impressed with his good behavior they keep giving him toys.
