The Final Week Adventures

McKenzie had a wonderful 4th grade year. In fact her teacher happened to be my good friends mother/volleyball team mom from Delta Valley Volleyball Club.

On the last day of school all the kids challenged the parents to a game of kick ball. I do have to share a comment that came out of a parents mouth. One of mothers asked her husband if he wanted to participate in the game. He asked, "What game are you playing?" His wife said," Kickball." He said, "Can I kick a kid?" They both started to laugh. You would have to know the couple...... that comment was all in good FUN.

I am so happy to be a part of McKenzie's 4th grade year. I love being there for her and enjoying all the laughter and friendship that she was developed thus far.

I think that the more kids you have in school the faster the year goes. Kindergarten is over all ready. We love Mrs. Moffett!

The last day of school Porter and I walked into Lydia and Sarah's classroom and found that Mrs. Moffett brought Barrett, a 6 month old Great Dane. I was in love from the moment I saw her! I was able to walk around with her and love on her for hours. I do have to share a hilarious situation that happened to me while walking around with Barrett. I was walking around on the grass with Barrett and she started picking up the pace quite a bit and before I knew it, she twirled me around so fast, I found myself lieing flat on the grass with the Barrett no where near me.

I was able to go with Sarah and Lydia's class to the Sacramento Zoo. We had a blast!

Mason beach is a few blocks away from Lakewood. Right after they entered the classroom it rained! Perfect timing I must say.

The twins are growing up so fast. I am glad that I can make memories with them that will last for a lifetime.

Following in His Footsteps

You are never to young to be a leader and follow the footsteps of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
A situation presented itself to Lydia and Sarah at school this week. This week Mrs Moffett told the class that there will be a teddy bear tea party at school on Wednesday. Both Lydia and Sarah told Mrs Moffett that they don't drink tea. I talked to Mrs Moffett and told her that I would bring apple juice for my girls.
After school Wednesday, the girls told me that everyone in the class had our apple juice! Ask yourself.....Did Lydia and Sarah make Mrs Moffett stop to think about having 6 years drink tea?
Standing up for what is right made a HUGE difference that day. I will continue to teach my girls to be leaders and stand for righteousness at all times.

Happy Mother's Day

Being a mother is one of the most magical treasures in life that Heavenly Father has blessed me with.

Here is my Mother. I love her so much. Being a mom of 4, I know and understand all what she has done for me and appreciate it tremendously.

A Mother is one who understands
the things you say and do.

Who always overlooks your faults
and sees the best in you.

A Mother is one whose special
love inspires you day by day.

Who fills your heart with gladness
in her warm and thoughtful way.

A Mother is all these things and
more-the greatest treasure known.

And the dearest Mother in all the
world is the one I call my own.

It was a wonderful ending to a wonderful day.

Intoducing you to Mary

I would like to introduce you to Mary.
For today only, McKenzie is Mary; a pioneer girl. She will be going to school at Micky Grove Zoo's Pioneer School. There they will be reenacting the life of a pioneer.

We couldn't be happier with the name Mary, because Mary is McKenzie's Great Grandma's name and she plays a huge part in the Daughters of Utah Pioneers.

Many smiling faces

There were many smiling faces when I made the announcement that Mrs. Campbell is coming back to Lakewood to do another Art Lesson. This time the children drew gumball machines.

Lydia's drawing from the first art lesson at school.

Sarah's drawing from the first art lesson at school.

We quickly put up the great little arts work.

Porter was such a trooper! Being so good through the whole 6 hours that we spent at school.

It was Cinco De Mayo Day, so after the art lesson lunch and a pinata was provided for the children.

I was in hysterics when I saw this pinata! Just think about this for a moment..... We are going to give a bat to the children and have them BEAT this poor Mexican girl so
so we can rob her of all her candy. What message are we sending?

After lunch we are off to McKenzie's class.

The finished project!

The Lakewood Talent Show

McKenzie and her BBF Piper sang in the Lakewood Talent Show, My favorite things-The Sound of Music. They performed in front of the whole school- and were fabulous!

Staying after school and working hard for weeks, McKenzie's 3rd grade class performed a Hawaiian dance.
Everything came together beautifully!

Twinism

On the way to school Friday, Lydia and Sarah brought up getting their ears pierced. I told the girls that Dad and I haven't talked about when, it will either be 11 or 12 yrs old.
Lydia said, "I have 6-7 years until I get my ears pierced."
Sarah said, " Well, maybe if my kid is bad she may not get her ears pierced until she is 13 years old. I may raise her like that!"

Sarahism

Sarah woke up Friday morning, came into my room and asked, "Are we Whitees, Mommy ?"
It took me a minute and I said," What?"
She responded by saying, " I mean are we White?"
I said," Yes we are sweetie."
Where does she come up with this stuff?

Kindergarten Daily News

Mrs Moffett's Kindergarten Class
puts out a Daily News letter and Lydia and Sarah were picked and asked what they wanted to say.
On Tuesday Lydia said, "I am going to go to Canada on a vacation with my family."
On Thursday Sarah said, "I cant wait until we borrow a motor home."
We are planning on going to Canada next year in March in a motor home. We discuss our plans each Monday night at the end of Family Home Evening. The kids cant wait.

Trade Shows

My hard working honey has been working weekends at different trade shows.
This weekend he is in Salinas. Two weekends ago he was in Santa Cruz.
Good Look'in Booth
Any bets on what brand the window is, it may surprise you to know.....
Peek-a-boo,
I see you, sweetie!

Just with Mommy

I decided to surprise my children today and take them to Phillip Farms for some quality time.
We went early enough to enjoy all the animals and had a lovely picnic lunch taking in the suns rays.

This chicken that Sarah is feeding was the only one out and they had a fun time chasing it around the yard. I mean they chased it so much that tonight she will ask to be put into the cage!

We couldn't of timed it better, all the baby goats we out roaming around free.

Who did your hair?

It ended up being just a great day!
