Family Fall Day

This nutty song is a favorite with my kids. Even Porter will start singing it out of the blue at the most unexpected times. That's a video in the making!

I’m an acorn, small and round
Lying on the cold, hard ground

People come and step on me

That’s why I’m cracked, you see
[Chorus]
I’m a nut, I’m a nut I’m a nut I'm a nut I'm a nut

When you sing the chorus you make a clacking sound with your mouth and take your fist to your head and knock.

Each year we go to Christmas tree Farm, 20 minutes from home and have ourselves an adventure.
McKenzie was in charge of pushing Porter. Boy she had fun with that task. Porter was off roading!
Sarah was in charge of the tree hauler.

And there's Lydia, my adventurer! She went scoping for Christmas trees on her own and came across the "Charlie Brown Christmas Tree." The Adamska Family growing up would travel hours, what it seemed to us kids, and have a field day picking apples, riding ponies and cutting down a Christmas tree. My dad explained to Whitney and I that some trees needed love and a home too. And he quickly pointed out the ugliest, lop sided, discolored trees you have ever seen. We started to think that these poor trees were sad and we needed to save them. So that's what we did each year. We took them home and made them BEAUTIFUL!

So to my surprise, Lydia pulled me over to show me her tree and I quickly smile in memory on my youth.

Sarah and Lydia thought that walkie talkies were necessary in the forest.

All my children were in fear that they wouldn't get a turn with Daddy cutting down the tree.

Daddy was so generous to treat everyone to a Hot Chocolate or a Hot Cider at the Snack Shack.

He's my Man!

Getting the Christmas tree was just the beginning of the day talking of Christmas. So I decided to have the kids made a Christmas Chain. And that way, when they ask every hour on the hour, "How many days til Christmas" they can count.

Feast your eye's on this magnificent Art Case.

Chocolate Chip Cookies were requested by Dad. Lydia jumped at the chance to help.

It wouldn't be fun to help without eating cookie dough!

Porter might have had a cookie?

While Lydia and I were slaving way making cookies, Scott took McKenzie and Sarah to Lowe's to finish out some projects.

As if today wasn't busy enough, Scott volunteered his talent in the kitchen with us and made us Sushi.

Twins Day

What a magnificent day today was. McKenzie received a call from cousin Ericka to have a sleepover. And of course after that call she was on cloud nine. So I decided to take the opportunity to spend some one on one time with the twins. Which you can imagine that never happens. The girls had to share Sarah's bike. Lydia's bike is way to small!!! So Santa if you see our blog..... remember to buy Lydia a bike for X-mas.
Sarah was very happy. Loved the flowers surrounded houses on Church St. Scott let them have a bike light that belonged to his bike and you can imagine the joy it brought to the girls. And along the way we had mini lessons about littering and keeping the Sabbath day holy. Sarah's perception of littering is that, strangers do it. On Church St there is a house called the "Hill House Museum" and every time we pass by they want to go in. Unfortunately we will never find out because its only open on Sunday, hours 1-4pm. Our destination was riding her bike to Lucas house (boy from Tot Kickball) and she forgot where he lived. She quickly remembered as we got closer. Singing Halloween songs and seeing Christmas lights and Christmas trees in windows ended our bike/ night run.
The eager Lydia she was already outside waiting for her turn. As we left the house, there is not sidewalk for one block. So she quickly reminded me she didn't feel comfortable riding in the street because you will have no mom or dad. I guess she got the point its unsafe. Good enough anyway. As we started on Church St. she was Speedy Gonzales. It was hard to keep up. She was focused during the ride. She soon slowed down a bit and start to express to me that her legs hurt and her arms and hands. Well if you know Lydia, once she starts hurting you quickly get her mind elsewhere. So I asked her if she could see her breath and she said no, but she might need ice cream to see it. That's my girl!! She too asked about Hill House and she was content with just looking thru the windows. Just taking my word that Sabbath days are for dedicated for our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ was enough for her. If we could all be like a child and just simply obey.
As we were coming up on Vine St. I told her to look out for Lucas house and she said his house is blue with white trim and had a red door. I was amazed. How observant my little girl is. By this time it is quite dark on South School and we were all ready to get into a warm house. I will just say that Lydia and I worked as a team getting back home. She looked up and realized where we were. Spotted our house, it was a mad dash home.
My time with the girls individually was a great time spent!

I would like to thank Dr Judy Tippit-White for the "BE BRAVE" Applebee's free kids meal. Going to Applebee's was icing on the cake for Lydia and Sarah.

It's Raining Blessings

What an enjoyable time was had by the Campbell Family at Gammie's and Small Papa's house this year.
Some of the most important blessings that my Heavenly Father has given me is right below in these photos. Family is everything to me!

Playing blocks with Gammie is a must.

I am so thankful for my goofy twin girls. They are so special and love their family.

My beautiful daughter!

The dinner clean-up crew! Next year I said I will bring the paper plates...... I was out voted!
Clearly we are a family that loves presentation and NOT practicality!

Lydia was caught in the act.....

Who wants a piece of cake now?

I think I layed something!

A good meal wouldn't be a good one without a nap afterwards.

And of course, dinner doesn't start in our family without a family photo. Thanks to Gammie and Papa hosting Thanksgiving this year we had a gourmet dinner fit for kings and queens.
It was great having Uncle Ben's dad and grandma over during this holiday season.

On this beautiful Thanksgiving day we enjoyed a game Bocce ball. It is a family favorite on all the major holidays. It's great to have family close by and enjoy their company.

It's great to see McKenzie enjoy herself.

The prettiest Adamska sisters there!

Daddy's little girl

Porter loves his Gammie.

Sarah loves playing puzzles with Gammie! But to have Gammie to herself, well this was the best day ever.

Look, I am on a TRUCK!

Boys and their trucks!

Don"t look now, but Porter is getting into your stuff!! McKenzie loves to draw wherever she goes. She gets her talent from Small Papa, Aunt Whitney and Grandma Alice.

Wow! Sarah is only 4 yrs old and look how well she writes.
Aunt Whitney might have helped a little bit.

Dennis Lichty and Grandma came to the Adamska house for Thanksgiving. We all had a great time. Lydia was given a lesson on how to hit the ball with the paddle.

Super Bowl MVP...
"Go long Uncle Ben"!

Thankgiving Traditions

Every Thanksgiving morning Papa picks the girls up to deliver goodies to families in the ward. Afterwards he takes them to his favorite fast food restaurant, Carls Jr., and treats them to ice cream milkshakes.

Porter couldn't wait until Papa came to the house.

Happy Thanksgiving
